Paul Harvey

Paul Harvey is an International teacher, author and has over 40 years experience as a student and teacher of the personalised application of Yoga, (viniyoga) through the teachings of Sri T.Krishnamacharya, Chennai, India. He has been a main Board member on many teaching organisations in the U.K. Known by many to be “the teacher´s teacher” he is sought after by teacher trainers, teachers and students around the world. Paul has studied indepth in many other Indian traditions such as Vedic Chant, Mantra, Sāṃkhya philosophy, Yoga Sūtra, Bhagavad Gītā and Āyurveda lifestyle skills.

Paul was a very close student of TKV Desikachar , Krishnamacharya´s son, for over 25 years. In 1979 he lived with his teacher for 2 years and after that he would visit him 2-3 months each year for over 2 decades.

Paul is also educated as a psychologist and psychotherapist known as Core process Psychotherapy and Transpersonal Psychology which has enabled him to integrate Western and Eastern philosophical psychology. This has given Paul a unique understanding in how to facilitate the teaching of yoga to his students. See further information on Paul

This evening will offer an introduction to Sound, Mantra and Yoga. Chanting practice within postural movement and meditational stillness. The focus will be the role of sound and chanting as a tool for health, positive well being and enhanced awareness.

A day of Yoga to explore the relationship between the Goals of Yoga, the Principles of Practice and the many Yoga styles around today in the West. Practice principles of Hatha Yoga and the View of the Yoga Sūtra in cultivating awareness and supporting our journey towards Yoga’s Goal.

A day of Yoga study and practice to explore the four chapters of the Yoga Sūtra as – The Map, the Vehicle, the Journey and the Goal – to help guide the Art of Personal Yoga Practice into greater depth, subtlety and relevance to daily life.
