Talya teaching Entering The Sacred Spine Free workshop

In the yogic tradition, two master keys open the way to health, vitality, and liberation:

  1. The directional movement of the spine.

  2. The conscious regulation of the breath.

The Directional Spine

The spine is described in yoga as Meru Danda — the inner Mount Meru, the cosmic axis. It is both our physical pillar and the subtle pathway of consciousness. When movement begins from the spine and radiates outward, every posture becomes alive. By stimulating and awakening the spine in its natural directions, prāṇa is freed to flow unimpeded.

The Breath and the Mind

Haṭha Yoga tells us: cale vate cale citta, sthire vate sthiram citta
“As the breath, so is the mind. When the breath moves, the mind moves. When the breath becomes still, the mind becomes still.”

The ancient masters knew that nothing is more precious than prāṇa, our vital force. To allow the breath to become restless, to breathe more than is needed, is to waste this life energy. Over-breathing scatters prāṇa, weakens the nervous system, and clouds awareness.
Through subtle and refined practice, we learn to steady and quiet the breath, to conserve prāṇa, and to awaken the inner fire of awareness.

What to Expect

  • Guided spinal movements that awaken and strengthen from root to crown.

  • Breath measurement and practices that reveal how the body breaths and how to correct it.

  • Hatha Tantric insights into the spine as the sacred axis, and the breath as the bridge between body, mind, and spirit.

This two and a half hour workshop is offered as a free introduction to our next season of “awakening the sacred spine” level 1 where we will dive deeper into these transformational teachings and practices. For those who want individual guidance there is an opportunity for personalised training with a Senior teacher.

    Talya and Gummi

After a decade of studying and practicing yoga with dedication, Gummi and Talya realized they needed direct guidance to go deeper in their teaching and practice. They found this in the teachings of the yoga master T. Krishnamacharya and have been studying his lineage since 2008, specializing in one-to-one teaching and yoga therapy.

They were the first to bring this method to Iceland in 2008 and are pioneers in applying Krishnamacharya’s approach to yoga therapy and one-to-one practice. They teach with a unique sense of passion, joy, and insight into these ancient teachings. Their mission is to help their students cultivate a practice that enriches and transforms their lives.

They are committed to sharing the multifaceted teachings of Krishnamacharya with an ever-growing community of practitioners.
